MEET DIRECTOR LOGAN LEISTIKOW
THE BEGINNING Logan Leistikow has been on the bleeding edge of entertainment since his TV debut in 2006 on IFC as "Featured Director" for his absurdist viral videos. The very next year he was directing 36 episodes of Tom Green Live, the FIRST live streaming call in talk show -- long before podcasting was mainstream! Continuing his string of Hollywood firsts, Leistikow was soon on the ground covering the FIRST Streamy Awards as host on his show The Yellow Mic in 2009! THE YELLOW MIC In addition to covering the first ever Streamy Awards, Leistikow and his man-on-the-street series The Yellow Mic covered both the 2007 and 2023 Hollywood strikes, and in 2008 interviewed late great Looney Tunes (and much more) voice legend Joe Alaskey. INDEPENDENT FILMS In 2011, Leistikow's feature documentary debut The Comedy Garage won awards, acclaim, a mention in the Los Angeles Times, a spot on Hulu, and a cult following! His 2016 short film Walton took a hard look at the art of stand-up (as well as writing) from a different perspective, that of an unhoused artist, earning its own share of accolades and a spot on Prime. In 2021 Leistikow directed The Fight Continues, a documentary about the "Black Lives Matter" movement, the Los Angeles march for police reform on "Black Tuesday" 2020, and how lessons learned from the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s apply to today's fight. MAINSTREAM TV WORK In addition to his award-winning independent productions, Leistikow has directed dozens of behind-the-scenes mini-docs (as well as promos) for big brands such as NBC, FOX, Comedy Central, and shows including American Idol, Last Comic Standing, Days of Our Lives, Parenthood, Kevin Hart Presents The Next Level, and many more! TODAY AND TOMORROW Leistikow recently directed Sports Gambling Podcast Network's main title intro sequence, which has preceeded hundreds of broadcasts, and is still in use! His next directorial project, Cornell Reid Live at The Basement, is coming soon in 2024. Stay tuned! |
